Osteoporosis, Osteopaenia

posted on 18 November 2007 | posted in What remedies might help my problem?

The bones, expecially in females, becomes thinner as we get older. By the age of 70 the bone density has diminished by about one third. Osteoporosis literally means porous bone. Osteopenia is a mild form of osteoporosis and if treated with supplements and weight bearing exercise can be controlled, even reversed in some instances.

There is more to osteoporosis and osteopaenia than a loss of calcium. In fact if calcium were the only factor, the condition would be called osteomalacia. In contrast in osteopaenia and osteoporosis other minerals are also involved as is the organic matrix of bone tissue that the calcium is housed in. This matrix is made of collagen. Visit here for a more detailed article that describes the condition and the preventative measure needed. Take at least three of the suggested supplements including at least one herbal combination
