Collagen is a tough fibrous protein that is the body's major structural protein. It is insoluble and very strong. Collagen forms the major part of tendons, bones, and connective tissues. It holds together our cells and tissues.

As we get older, collagen production slows down, making us prone to slower structural repair. Also, collagen is the main factor in the firm youthful appearance of our skin.
